Dr. Vassilis Skouteris received his degree in Law from the University of Athens, School of Law, 1995 with first class honours, LL.M. from The London School of Economics and Political Sciences, 1999, with upper merit, and Ph.D. in Law, from Birkbeck College, University of London, 2001. He was admitted to the Piraeus Bar Association in 1997 and was qualified to practise before the Court of Appeal in 2002.
His areas of practice include banking law, financial services law, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, corporate and general commercial, commercial insolvency, company restructuring and reorganisation law, mergers & acquisitions, derivatives, EU law, real estate, with particular emphasis in drafting and advising on shipping and trade contracts, banking transactions, corporate recovery, and liquidation.
Dr. Skouteris' publications include: Translation and Annotation of a decision taken by the French Supreme Court on the responsibility of the producer of defective product within the frame of the Brussels Convention of 1968, Koinodikion (private international law review), 2(1996), 119; "Societies of Interchangeable Lives", Law and Critique, 15(2004) 2, 119.
Dr. Skouteris has been a scholar of the Greek State Scholarships' Foundation (IKY). He speaks English and French, understands German, and his native language is Greek.
